The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of March 2nd
We have a rare two for one special at the top this week, but in a way that’s only half cheating. Let’s look at that and more in this week’s edition of The Pull.
Book of the Week: The Nice House on the Lake #7/Vol. 1 TP:
This probably is not a surprise to you. The Nice House on the Lake was my second favorite series from 2021, as James Tynion IV, Alvaro Martinez Bueno, Jordie Bellaire, and Deron Bennett’s DC Black Label series has been constantly impressive and often in surprising, even innovative ways. Even better, whoever is in charge of this kind of thing over there made the wise decision to release the trade paperback of the first volume and the first issue of the second and final arc on the same day. If you missed out on this series in single issues to start, you can get caught up immediately with one visit to your comic shop. That’s amazing.
I don’t need to elaborate here, though. I’ve said a lot about this series already. Its debut was one of the most engrossing single issues I’ve ever read, and its first arc knocked me flat. I have no doubt the second arc will do the same. I can’t wait to find out, and to bask in the glory of that Bueno/Bellaire combination.
