The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of October 14th
This isn’t a deep week of releases for me, but what is coming is very, very appealing. What am I excited about? You can find out in this edition of The Pull, where I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics.

Comic of the Week: Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham Central #2
This is one of four numbers twos from the week that started out hot and have the potential for more. It’s the only one that I haven’t highlighted in a substantial way yet, though, so folks: You should read the Gotham Central miniseries! Christopher Cantwell and Jacob Phillips hit us with a banger in the first issue, one that evokes the energy of the original series while perfectly fitting the crossover it’s a part of. I really dug it, and can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.

Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: End of Life Vol. 1
I will continue repping for End of Life until everyone is buying it. It’s the best of the new wave Vertigo titles for me, as Kyle Starks, Steve Pugh, and friends have taken a story of an idiot hitman returning home to hide from the crime syndicate he’s a part of after a job goes awry and turned it into a funny, violent, and poignant — in the way Kyle Starks comics always are — series. End of Life had a chance to be great if it managed to reach its potential. It has, and it’s a pleasure to read each and every month.
