Get an Inside Look at My Five Favorite Pieces of Original Comic Art from My Collection

I love original comic art. Whether you’re talking about pages from the comics themselves or commissions, it’s a treasure to me, even if I don’t have as much of it as I’d like. It turns out comic art is expensive — and it should be, as artists put a ton of time and effort into it — and I am not a particularly rich individual. But over the years, I’ve collected a fair bit of art, which is why when requests kept coming in for an office tour from YouTube viewers, I decided to give them a taster until I’m ready for that.

It isn’t a walkthrough of every piece of art I own, but it’s a video showcase of my five favorite pieces I own, one where I just riffed to the camera about these pieces and the story behind each of them. That’s my secret. I don’t buy art simply because I like it. There’s typically a story behind it, and this video finds me sharing those stories. It’s up on YouTube already, but as promised, each video I post to YouTube will come with a transcribed version for SKTCHD subscribers. Some people prefer to read rather than watch. I’m one of them! So, you can find the video and a transcribed version below with art inserted in the appropriate places, although it’s been edited for clarity, because it turns out that the improvisational version of me filibusters a bit. Sorry not sorry!

Let’s get to the video and transcription, though. I hope you enjoy this inside look at my collection, and hey, there should be more to come in this vein in the future.
