It’s Time! Let’s Do a September and October Mailbag Q&A!
Folks, it’s time for one of my favorite things I do here on SKTCHD and Off Panel, which has now accidentally become bi-monthly but I suspect that will not be the case for good. That’s right: We’re doing another Mailbag Q&A, and this one’s for September and October at the same time.
Plenty of you are new here, so you might be wondering, “What exactly is that, David?” That’s a great question. My Mailbag Q&As are a common tool for folks in the writing and podcasting space that allows all you fine folks, the subscribers of SKTCHD and patrons of Off Panel, to ask me whatever questions you might have, and then I answer them in a typically giant-sized column full of random and glorious things. That’s pretty much it.
That might introduce a second question: “What kind of questions can I ask, David?” That’s another good one! You’re on fire, right now. That answer is simple: You can ask whatever you’d like. Honestly, everything is open here. Most questions are about comics and its industry, or they’re about the work that I do as a writer or podcaster. But it extends beyond that, as I get plenty of questions about my life, sports, TV shows and movies I’m watching, favorite albums, sandwich power rankings, and any number of other subjects. Want me to share my favorite Robert Redford films or to talk about my time in the emo/punk scene that I discussed with Ngozi Ukazu this week? That’s 100% on the table. Whatever you want to ask, I’ll answer, unless it’s too intensely personal (which is rare, as I have a high bar for that) or it’s too big for the Mailbag, in which case I’ll move it to its own piece.
Participating is easy. You can either comment on this very post, email me at david@SKTCHD.com, or hit me up on social media and we can make it happen. My only request is you get your questions to me by, say, October 3rd, and then I can work them into the Mailbag that should hit during NYCC Week. These are fun, so if you want to make this Mailbag extra fun, make sure to send your question or questions my way and I’ll get them in the mix!
