The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of December 29th

It’s the last Wednesday of the year, which means, as per usual, it’s going to be a light week. But a light week with some real headliners! Let’s look at those and more in this week’s edition of The Pull.

Book of the Week: Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1

Sometimes my book of the week selection process is complicated. I weigh one title’s pros and cons against another’s, until I eventually make my way to a decision. When there are three or more titles involved, it can be even more complicated. All of that can make this a bit of a struggle.

That was not the case this week. It’s a simple one here, as it’s Jeff Lemire and Doug Mahnke working on a DC Black Label book together. That it’s Swamp Thing, a character Lemire once told me was one he was a “massive” fan of, makes it all the more intriguing. That it’s Mahnke’s art in Prestige Plus sizing attracts me even more. There’s a lot of pros to this, and very few cons. That makes this a slam dunk book of the week, even in a Kaijumax one.
