The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of January 17th

Hey! It’s my birthday! While I won’t be in Anchorage to buy any comics, those featured in The Pull would be what I’d get if I was in town. Let’s get to it!

Comic of the Week: Avengers: Twilight #1

This is 100% faith in Chip Zdarsky, Daniel Acuña, and the Kingdom Come-like concept. I very much do not love that it’s $5.99 and if any of those three factors were weaker, this would almost certainly be a Marvel Unlimited read. But, Zdarsky, Acuña, and that idea are good enough I cannot resist. Fingers crossed on this working out for me!

Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: Wild’s End TP

I may have mentioned a time or two that I love Wild’s End. Well, this trade paperback collects the first three volumes of it, a story with a beginning, middle, and end that tells the tale of a gaggle of anthropomorphic people in the English countryside trying to survive an alien invasion. It is smart, poignant, scary, thoughtful, and has some of the best art you will find in any comic anywhere, as I.N.J. Culbard crushes throughout. This is a great comic. You should read it. I will be. Again!
