The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of July 27th

It’s Ram and Al Week! Sure, other comics come out – including a book of the week from someone else entirely! – but jeez, there are a ton of books I’m into from those two this week. Let’s look at those and more in this week’s edition of The Pull.

Book of the Week: Ghost Cage TP

It’s only July, so I’m not sure where it’s going to stand when the year ends. But Nick Dragotta, Caleb Goellner, Rus Wooton, Frank Martin, Jr., and David Brothers’ Ghost Cage will be on my favorite comics of the year list. It’s a revelation, a fizzy, bonkers ride into the influences and minds of everyone involved. It’s like The Raid mixed with Akira, with a fierce, pointed sense of humor behind it all. I don’t really want to say much else, because the best way to understand this comic is to experience it. You’ll find few more inventive and inspired reads than this one in 2022, and now that it’s collected in full, it’s the perfect time to pick it up.

I highly suggest you do so. You’ll have a blast.
