The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of June 10th
It’s a big week in comic shops with some massive debuts, so let’s get straight into it, as I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities in another edition of The Pull, with this whole thing being led off by a sizable story for The House of Ideas.

Comic of the Week: Avengers: Armageddon #1
Truth be told, even when I’m down on Marvel, I find it very hard to resist capital “E” Events, the big ones that set up major stories and, at times, change the Marvel universe forever. Avengers: Armageddon seems like it will do that, as it’s setting up a new Avengers team and resulting in the “world order” being “completely rewritten.” That’s all promising, but the reason I’m here is because I trust Chip Zdarsky to write a great yarn regardless of the type of story it is and because Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar are tremendous at this whole art thing. Fingers crossed that Avengers: Armageddon does what readers want it to do and what Marvel needs it to, because that would be a very good thing.

Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: Orphan and the Five Beasts: Bath of Blood TP
As you may have noticed from my interview with James Stokoe, I’m a bit of a fan of the cartoonist’s work. The second volume of this martial arts monsterpiece is a killer read, one that acts as an elite showcase for what Stokoe is capable of while blending action and humor perfectly. I highly recommend you pick up both this and the first volume, which was just called Orphan and the Five Beasts, and then bask in the glory of what Stokoe brings to the page.
