The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of September 10th
Hooo boy is this a good week of comics! New titles! Runs ending! Graphic novels hitting! It has it all, so let’s look at an exciting slate in this edition of The Pull, as I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities, led by two big, big books.

Comic of the Week: Transformers #24
It’s here. The end of Daniel Warren Johnson’s run on Transformers, as DWJ and Jorge Corona end their time on the title with what’s sure to be a banger. It’s Optimus Prime versus Megatron for all the marbles, or at least the marbles that are currently available, narratively speaking. It’s been an amazing run by all involved, with Transformers transforming into the one thing few could have expected: an actual award-winning series. But the efforts by all involved have been tremendous throughout, and I for one cannot wait to see what they have in store for us here. ‘Til all are one!

Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: Spectators HC
As you may have noticed from this week’s episode of Off Panel and my many, many mentions of this story since it started being published on the Exploding Giraffe Substack, I’m a big fan of what Brian K. Vaughan, Niko Henrichon, and Fonografiks brewed up with Spectators. It’s an exception work, one filled with insightful observations, indelible characters, a remarkable future, and some of the greatest art the medium of comics has ever seen. It’s not for everyone. This is one sexy and violent comic book! But for those who can tolerate that kind of thing, what you’ll find in Spectators is a one-of-a-kind comic from an elite creative team. This is why we read comics, folks.
