The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of September 21st

It’s a fairly calm week of comics this week, so let’s celebrate a fave from a fave to kick things off in The Pull.

Book of the Week: Public Domain #4

Chip Zdarsky’s Public Domain has been a refreshing read, a comic that knows what it is, and what it is happens to be its own thing altogether. It’s a human, grounded, funny, sad, smart, ridiculous, and totally real look at the intersection of art and commerce, but also of following your passions and having a family. Plus it features characters that make questionable gambling decisions and perhaps even more questionable van-based decisions. Chip’s art fits it perfectly, his writing is whip smart, and the whole thing will make you think about the comics you read perhaps a little differently than you have before.

It’s a genuinely great comic, and a high probability end of the year contender for yours truly.
