Chip Chat Vol. 2: One Lucky Chap

Chip's back, and this time, he's going Hollywood!

Welcome back to Chip Chat, as 2026’s monthly interview series with Chip Zdarsky continues onwards, despite the fact that Zdarsky has become “rich and famous” and “best friends with Margot Robbie” in the wake of the news that Sex Criminals is going to become a TV series over at Amazon Prime.

But as they say, the show must go on, and this show that takes place here on SKTCHD and the SKTCHD YouTube returns with a discussion about how Zdarsky makes the hard decisions. And by that, I mean, how does a creator figure out which moves to make and which ones to pass on? Whether you’re talking writing jobs or cover gigs, for-hire or creator-owned, or Kumail Nanjiani-fueled or…not Kumail Nanjiani-fueled, there are plenty of choices a creator has to make as they figure their career out, and that’s what we talk about today through the prism of that Sex Criminals adaptation, the recently announced MAD About DC (which Zdarsky is guest editing), and a whole lot more.

Each Chip Chat will publish on the SKTCHD YouTube as a video series, but only SKTCHD subscribers will get access to the transcribed version of each conversation. So, if you’re like, “no thank you!” to videos — whether they feature Chip and I or not — then I have good news for you: You can read these interviews if you subscribe to SKTCHD, and only if you do.

But without further ado, let’s get to the second entry in the assuredly-soon-to-be-an-Amazon-series as well interview series Chip Chat for your viewing and/or reading pleasure. I hope you dig it.
