Off Panel #1: Sean Murphy on the Business of Comics

Sean Murphy brings some real talk about how he handles the business of comic art

In the first episode of’s weekly creator-centric podcast Off Panel, David welcomes comic artist Sean Murphy to the show to talk about the business of comics. They talk creator-owned vs. for-hire, how the industry is changing right now, what working with Mark Millar was like, what the future holds for him and more. This is a must listen for those who took interest in yesterday’s comic artist survey longform, as it’s a great companion piece to that article. One Editor’s Note, we did record it in early May on the day “Chrononauts” #3 was released, so keep that in mind while listening.

Sean is the Eisner winning artist of “The Wake” with Scott Snyder, the recently wrapped “Chrononauts” with Millar, his title “Punk Rock Jesus” that he both wrote and illustrated, and the upcoming “Tokyo Ghost” with Rick Remender at Image. You can find Sean on Twitter and DeviantArt.
