Off Panel Live #5: Brenden Fletcher

After a skip week, Off Panel Live! returned this past weekend for a chat with my pal, writer Brenden Fletcher, on the SKTCHD Instagram. Fletcher is the writer (or co-writer) of titles like Isola, Robotech Remix, Motor Crush, Gotham Academy, and more, and he joined me for a blend of questions about Fletcher the creator and Fletcher the person.

Fletcher joined me for ten questions and a walkthrough of some of his favorite things, including his shockingly deep love of Dracula. We also talked about collaboration, Karl Kerschl, Robotech/Macross, how his thinking about comics is changing because of the pandemic, Gotham Academy vs. Batgirl, the return of Motor Crush, and a whole lot more. It’s a super fun chat, and you can listen to it here.

However, for those expecting a typical Off Panel episode, this is recorded over an iPhone so the audio quality isn’t what it usually is. It’s a fun episode! It’s certainly worth listening to! But the quality isn’t QUITE the same, although I’ve been accused of being overly particular about audio quality before. Lastly, please note that there are specific visual references in this episode, and that’s because it’s typically a visual show. With those caveats aside, here is the episode!

Off Panel Live! has a sponsor as well, and it’s No Longer Mint, an emporium of amazing wares like stickers, shirts, books and more from comic colorist and designer to the stars Rico Renzi. Rico has a ton of great swag, and you should totally check it out! As someone who owns gear from Rico, you know I recommend it!
