SKTCHD Audio: The Writers of Annihilation on the Making of the Series

On this week’s edition of SKTCHD Audio, in which I share the work that went into my longform features in the form of my interviews with key players from them, I have a monster medley of audio interviews with the writers of the broader Annihilation event. This episode features Keith Giffen, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Simon Furman, with each of them talking about the story behind the making of their respective parts of Marvel’s sprawling 2006 cosmic event.

Here are some time codes to make your lives a little easier if you’re interested in specific writers:

  • Keith Giffen: 1:05 – 53:27
  • Dan Abnett: 53:39 – 1:40:13
  • Andy Lanning: 1:40:24 – 2:24:49
  • Javier Grillo-Marxuach: 2:24:58 – 2:57:32
  • Simon Furman: 2:57:41 – 3:31:36

Also, don’t forget to read my oral history of Annihilation, as that’s where these interviews led. As for the interviews, you can listen to them below, or if you’d prefer to download it for listening on the go, you can here.

As a reminder, these episodes will only be available to SKTCHD subscribers after this week,1 as SKTCHD Audio will just be an extension of the longform features I write for the site. They’re not podcasts of the same quality as Off Panel, as edited less and designed for something different. But they’re still fun, and I hope you enjoy them.

Also, once the site’s paywall goes live, your subscription will come with access to a subscription-only RSS feed, so you’ll be able to drop this in your preferred podcast app and make the magic happen right then and there.
