The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of January 21st

It’s a big week, with a continuation of one of Marvel’s great hopes and a long-awaited graphic novel hitting shops. So, let’s look at those comics and more, as I share my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics in the latest edition of The Pull.

Comic of the Week: Captain America #6

Chip Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti’s run on Captain America has been a dang good read so far, and with its importance only growing with Zdarsky’s Armageddon event coming up, now’s a good time to get onboard. Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: I Am Their Silence HC

This is cartoonist Jordi Lafebre’s follow up to SKTCHD AWRD winner (as one of my Comics of 2022) Always Never, and it’s an easy sell simply because there aren’t many cartoonists whose art and perspective appeal more than Lafebre’s. The fact that I Am Their Silence has been described as “an oddly heartwarming murder mystery” makes it all the more appealing. I’ve been waiting for this one since it debuted in France, and I cannot wait to pick it up and dive back into Lafebre’s work.
