It’s the week after one of the most bananas Wednesdays in recent memory, but instead of a nice calm one, we have another pretty robust slate filled with great books. So, let’s get into that as I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from yet another great looking week of comic releases in The Pull.

Comic of the Week: Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham General #1

This one is an extremely easy sell. Greg Rucka writing a The Pitt-like story set during a Gotham event? Be still my beating heart! Even if I wasn’t reading the rest of Bad Seeds, I’d be on this just for the real world(ish) look at hospital life during a superhero event. It’s a preposterously great concept for someone who likes superheroes with a healthy side of reality.

Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week: Forevr TP

They had me at Brian “Box” Brown, as the cartoonist delivers every time he takes on a new project. This new Top Shelf graphic novels seems no different, as it’s a look at tech addiction and family drama through a very specific, quite possibly near future lens where no one really dies anymore, as consciousnesses can be uploaded into an app called Forevr for their families and friends to engage with — all for a low, low monthly fee. This story focuses on a specific family on a camping trip, one that leads into conflict and nonsense and all kinds of things, but knowing Brown, it will be smart, funny, emotional, and expertly depicted throughout. I can’t wait.
