This week is rapidly climbing my “most insane times of my life” power rankings, and who knows what today will bring? But the show must go on, with the understanding of a) I am condensing the undeniably most important topic to one point, b) it’s coming at the end, and c) I’m leading with things that make me happy because let’s be honest, we all need that right now. Onto the show, as another week is analyzed in Comics Disassembled, my look at ten things I liked or didn’t like from the week of comics.

1. Kris Anka, Killing It Anyways

It is the absolute best.

I love everything about it. Molly’s sassy stance. Her being taller than Logan. Logan’s stern attitude. The clear story being told, which is of Logan trying to bring Molly to Krakoa. Molly’s hat and backpack. Everything about it. Anka’s one of the best in the biz, and last week, I wrote about his gig on the Into the Spider-Verse sequel, saying I was hopeful he’d still do comics work from time to time. I’m not sure if he will be doing any during that project, but boy is this a good reminder why it’s good to have him around. He’s just an unreal good artist.

2. Steeple, Going Online

I may have mentioned this, but I am rather fond of John Allison’s work. Pound for pound, he may be my favorite comic book creator right now, as I love everything he does, both as a writer and as an artist, or as both at the same time! Which is what makes me waiting for trade on his Dark Horse series Steeple all the more foolish, as I knew it would lead to me waiting and being sad about it. It’s coming in May, which is a good thing, but an even better thing is this: Allison is keeping the story going on his site with Steeple: The Silvery Moon!

He’ll be updating the comic Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and he’s already a month ahead of schedule. What does that mean? FREE ALLISON! Also, it’s a very wild read having only read the first issue, leading to some questions of Freaky Friday-ness. But the point is this: there’s new John Allison comics, and new Allison comics deserve attention, love and bathing in trophies, medals and acclaim. Do all three. Or five. I listed within a list, but the point is John Allison is great and you should read his comics. Yes!
