I’m back in business, so hey, let’s do a Mailbag Q&A for July/August!
Folks, it is time once again for a new Mailbag Q&A, one that’s meant to be for both July and August. I know there are a bunch of newcomers here, so you might be wondering what that is. That’s easy. My Mailbag Q&As are columns where I answer questions from the subscribers of SKTCHD, the patrons of Off Panel, and anyone else who feels like throwing something in the mix, with each Mailbag typically being a monster entry that touches on a little bit of everything — which is just what I hoped would happen when I copied sportswriter Bill Simmons’ long-standing Mailbags to begin with.
And the reason they end up being about a little bit of everything is because anything goes in my Mailbag Q&As. While most questions typically center on comics as a medium or an industry, or on what I do at SKTCHD or Off Panel, those are just the starting points. I take questions of all varieties, whether it’s about my life, sports, movies, TV shows, music, society, or anything else that strikes your fancy. Want to ask me about my thoughts about the comic sites/podcasts space? Feel free! Curious as to my takes about the remainder of Major League Baseball’s season now that we’re at the All-Star Break? I definitely have those. Want my thoughts on Death Stranding 2? You know I keep on keepin’ on. The point is, it’s all on the table.
More than that, the questions can be real or hypothetical, straightforward or strange as heck, and they can be multiple questions rather than singular. I’m open to whatever you got. I love doing these, so feel free to hit me up. One caveat, though, is sometimes the questions are too big for a column like this. In that case, I’ll turn it into an article for SKTCHD. But that’s only happened a couple times, I think, so it’s pretty rare.
How do you participate? That’s easy too. All you have to do is drop a comment ion this post or email me at david@SKTCHD.com to get it in the mix. You can also hit me up on Instagram or Bluesky — I’m no longer on Twitter and have not been for some time, so that’s no longer an option — if you so desire. However you do it, the point is you do it. I am ready to party, Mailbag style. So, let’s make it happen, and you do that by getting me your questions by Friday, August 1st. If you want to ask me something, do it by then. I reserve the right to close early if questions stop coming in, but frankly, that rarely happens.
So, let’s have some fun. Ask me some questions, folks!
