The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of January 14th

It’s a funky week, this second new comic book day of 2026, but I’m still here to highlight all my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics, with one of the final issues of arguably Marvel’s best book leading the way.

Comic of the Week: The Ultimates #20

Man, I really loved The Ultimates #19. I’ve greatly enjoyed this entire run from Deniz Camp, Juan Frigeri, and friends, but that one was special, with it all building from a lot of threads that had loomed throughout the run. Because of the nature of this series and its kind of Ultimate universe tourism type structure, it’s hard to tell what each issue will prove to be, but this one seems like it’s set to pay off a lot of the Fury beats that we first experienced in the One Year In one-shot for this universe. I can’t wait to see what the team has in store for us, but it should be a great read no matter what they cook up.
