Book of the Week: Defenders Beyond #1

In a competitive week for the top spot, I made a simple choice: always bet on Javier Rodriguez.

While I liked rather than loved the first Defenders volume from Al Ewing and Rodriguez, there’s just a great energy about this overall effort and the partnership between these two. The lead in to this from Thor #24 (which is a thing that happened!) only made me that much more interested in this. There’s just good vibes here, and with Rodriguez drawing and coloring it, we know it’s going to be one of the best looking comics of any week. I’m all the way in.
