Let’s look at that and more in The Pull, my column that dives into my buys, recommendations and curiosities from the week in comics.

I’m going to get Assassin Nation when it comes out in trade.

I got American Carnage, Excellence, Farmhand and Skyward.

American Carnage is so engrossing - not sure I know exactly why, but it just works so well for me. I’m disappointed it’s ending with issue 9, I’d have loved this to be a traditional Vertigo 60 issue extended series. I even broke my Comixology rule and subscribed to the single issues, despite not getting a DRM-free copy, as a symbol of support.

Are you not getting Excellence @SKTCHD ? I expected you to be trade waiting it. Issue #1 was incredible. Really exciting and I was quickly invested in the world. Issue #2 was also very good, so I’d recommend trying it.

Farmhand is a series I’m not hugely excited to read the issue beforehand, but when reading enjoy reading each issue a lot.

Skyward is such a cool series - I like the direction it is going in a lot. Exciting action adventure, and I don’t experience enough of those these days. At end of issue #5 I was expecting it to go a direction I wasn’t as enthusiastic about so a pleasant surprise.

I’m 50/50 on it. I’m intrigued by it, but I’m so backed up on reads right now that adding another series to trade wait on can be tough. Your recommendation ups its likelihood a fair bit, though, and I do quite enjoy Khary Randolph’s art.
