The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of November 27th

It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and if you think I’m going to let a little tryptophan keep me away from reading comics, you are sorely mistaken. Let’s look at my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics in The Pull, led by the arrival of a long-awaited finale.

Book of the Week: Batman: Creature of the Night #4

This title is concluding two days before the two year anniversary of its first issue dropping, as both of its primary creators have battled health issues. But I have no doubt it will be worth the wait, and I’d much rather have this close with art from John Paul Leon much, much later than have someone fill in for him and get it sooner. I’ll be very intrigued to see how Kurt Busiek and Leon end this series because there is a lot to cover in this last issue and it was left in a fascinating place.

Whatever happens I am sure it will be great, as Leon and Busiek are two of the best there is, and this has been an original, engaging take in the vein of Superman: Secret Identity. I can’t wait until it’s collected because it’s going to be a doozy when it’s all together in one volume.
