The Pull: A Look at the Comics Dropping the Week of October 6th

A top heavy week finds a debut taking the lead spot, even if two current favorites put in a lot of effort to wrest control of the top away from it. Let’s look at all that and more in The Pull.

Book of the Week: Dirtbag Rapture #1

I love everything about this book heading into it. The creative team. The logo. The supernatural Major Bummer-like premise, as a person given gifts she doesn’t want gets involved with a big, crazy plot she’d prefer to not play a part in. That cover. THE TITLE!

Chris Sebela’s a fantastic writer, and one with exemplary concepts with chops to match. Kendall Goode is a heck of a talent. Gab Contreras is a heck of an up-and-coming colorist. It even has a Malachi Ward variant cover I love! There’s just not much to not like here. Dirtbag Rapture strikes me as a title with a high floor and a very high ceiling, a book that I know will be good but with a significant chance of being great as well. I’m excited to find out when it drops this week.
