The Moment with Jason Aaron

Welcome to another edition of The Moment, an interview series on SKTCHD with a simple premise: Creators join me to talk about The Moment they knew four of their biggest projects were going to work, whether that’s creatively, commercially, or some mix of both.

And we have another good one this month, as writer Jason Aaron joins to share the moments he knew four comics from his career — each of which I picked — were going to work and the journeys that were taken on each of those runs. Those comics were:

  • Scalped, with R.M. Guera, Giulia Brusco, and Steve Wands
  • Wolverine and the X-Men, with Chris Bachalo, Nick Bradshaw and more
  • His larger Thor run, with Esad Ribić, Russell Dauterman, Mike Del Mundo, and more
  • Bug Wars, with Mahmud Asrar, Matthew Wilson, and Becca Carey

This is a very fun and insightful conversation, with fantastic perspective from Aaron as he digs into these critically acclaimed and commercially successful titles from his — and comic book — history.

You can watch it here or on YouTube. Oh, and while you’re at it, make sure to subscribe to the SKTCHD YouTube channel, which will be getting Shorts posted from this episode throughout the week and more in the future. And stay tuned for the next episode of The Moment, which will arrive this March when a legendary artist joins the show.

For those who prefer to read rather than watch, each episode of The Moment (and each episode of any video-first material) will come with a text version of this interview that’s been edited for clarity and is only available for SKTCHD subscribers. The text version once again comes with bonus material, as I tightened up the video version in pursuit of a slightly shorter length. So, for those who read the chat, you’ll get a bit lengthier interview. I hope you dig it!
