Over on the SKTCHD Instagram, my weekly Off Panel Live! episodes have continued onwards, as I jump on Instagram Live and chat with comic creators about a variety of topics, not all of which are comic related. This past weekend’s one was a gem, and it featured one of my favorite people in comics: Declan Shalvey.
Shalvey joined me for ten questions, five of his favorite things, and one question and answer session with those who were watching, which led to a fantastic conversation about comic covers, Star Trek, how the world of comics is shifting during this pandemic, street level characters, dream collaborators, Andy Kubert, Tequila Mike, and a whole lot more. It’s a super fun chat, and you can listen to it here.
However, for those expecting a typical Off Panel episode, this is recorded over an iPhone so the audio quality isn’t what it usually is. It’s a fun episode! It’s certainly worth listening to! But the quality isn’t QUITE the same, although I’ve been accused of being overly particular about audio quality before. Lastly, please note that there are specific visual references in this episode, and that’s because it’s typically a visual show. With those caveats aside, here is the episode!
Off Panel Live! has a sponsor as well, and it’s No Longer Mint, an emporium of amazing wares like stickers, shirts, books and more from comic colorist and designer to the stars Rico Renzi. Rico has a ton of great swag, and you should totally check it out! As someone who owns gear from Rico, you know I recommend it!
